I also have a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Brunswick where I specialized in history in the honours program. I fully believe that our path towards a sustainable future begins with listening to and implementing Indigenous environmental practices. I want to continue to study Indigenous history and teach it to others to spread an awareness and understanding of the unique challenges Indians, Metis, and Inuit peoples have faced throughout the colonization of Canada and North America.

I am passionate about the need for the Canadian public to gain a greater understanding of our history, whether someone’s history is from a colonial background or not. Everyone can always improve their understanding of history, and learning history can help make sense of the world we live in today. I think that great changes will come to our understanding of our relationship with the natural environment, and looking to historical precedent will help us move forward in the best way possible.
