He successfully attained his Master of History degree from the University of Calgary.  He defended his thesis, “Not Indian Enough: The History of the Michel Indian Band.”  Henry is a Status Indian (Alberta General List), and his thesis focused on his own Nation’s story of Canada’s forced enfranchisement of the Michel Indian Band in 1958.

“I hope to use the skills I've acquired to help my fellow Status Indians, who have no way to access their treaty rights other than through the Indian Act, which is wrong on so many levels.”

MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

“I started Calliou Group in 2008 with the hope that I could take everything I knew about the rights held by Indigenous peoples and pass it on to my clients and to the people I work with. The process of learning, adjusting, and learning again has not stopped in almost 30 years. I wish I could say conditions have changed for Indigenous peoples in Canada, but I can’t. And that is what kept me going. The work is not done, the fight is not over.”
